Der Minardi 191B F1 mit Lamborghini-Motor nimmt nach 26 Jahren wieder an Rennen teil
26 Jahre nach seinem letzten Grand Prix feiert der mit einem Lamborghini-V12-Motor LE3512 ausgerüstete Minardi M191B, Fahrgestellnummer #003 – einer der Protagonisten der Formel 1-Saison von 1992 – sein Comeback auf der Rennstrecke. Die von Lamborghini Squadra Corse organisierte Testfahrt, mit ihrer stark emotionalen Wirkung, ist das Ergebnis einer sorgfältigen Komplettrestaurierung, die von Lamborghini Polo Storico mit Hilfe von Personal der ehemaligen Lamborghini Engineering realisiert wurde, einem aktiven Bestandteil des Lamborghini F1-Projekts von Anfang der 90er Jahre. Der Minardi M191B #003 ist der erste Monoposto, der vom Polo Storico restauriert wurde: nach der Ausstellung im Lamborghini-Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese kehrte das Fahrzeug nach sieben Monaten dauernden Arbeiten, bei denen ein Großteil der Originalkomponenten beibehalten wurde, zu seiner ursprünglichen Effizienz zurück. Reifen, Tank, Motorsteuergerät, Sicherheitsgurte und Löschsystem wurden ausgewechselt, die anderen Komponenten – angefangen mit dem von Mauro Forghieri entwickelten Motor – sorgfältig überholt. Der 12-Zylinder-Motor LE3512 ist noch heute imstande, die ursprünglich fast 700 PS zu liefern, und lässt die Emotionen aus den Glanzzeiten der Formel 1 wiederaufleben.
Ehrengäste anlässlich des großen Comebacks sind Mirko Bortolotti, Factory Driver bei Lamborghini, und Giancarlo Minardi.
Der Gründer des Teams aus Faenza erinnerte an die ertragreiche Zusammenarbeit mit Lamborghini, die die ganze Saison 1992 über dauerte: „Der Anblick der Modelle von vor 25-30 Jahren begeistert noch immer. Dies sind die letzten Fahrzeuge vor dem Einsatz von Telemetriesystemen und Automatikgetrieben. Ganz abgesehen von seinem Dröhnen, das uns heute noch an herrliche Zeiten erinnert, war dieser Motor sehr elastisch und lieferte schon bei niedrigen Drehzahlen eine starke Leistung.“ Unter den Fittichen der Piloten Gianni Morbidelli und Christian Fittipaldi trug der M191B #003 die ersten Grand Prix 1992 aus, bevor er von dem M192 abgelöst wurde, ebenfalls mit Lamborghini-Motor ausgestattet. Der vom Polo Storico restaurierte Monoposto erreichte mit Christian Fittipaldi als bestes Resultat einen 11. Platz beim GP von Spanien, und steht jetzt auch wieder für eine Teilnahme an den Wettrennen für F1-Oldtimer bereit. Das Testergebnis fiel sehr positiv aus: Das Fahrzeug legte problemlos über 20 Runden zurück,und der Lamborghini-Motor behielt die Merkmale, die Ayrton Senna 1993 während der Tests in Estoril tief beeindruckt hatten, unverändert bei.

The Minardi 191B F1 with Lamborghini engine returns to racing after 26 years
Twenty-six years from its last Grand Prix, the Minardi M191B chassis #003, equipped with a Lamborghini LE3512 V12 engine and one of the protagonists of Formula One in 1992, is back on the track.
The exciting shakedown organized by Lamborghini Squadra Corse is the result of a meticulous restoration carried out by Lamborghini Polo Storico with the support of former Lamborghini engineering personnel who were active on the Lamborghini F1 project in the early ’90s.
The Minardi M191B #003 is the first single-seater to be restored by Polo Storico. After being on display at the Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the car underwent seven months of work to return to its original efficiency, with most of the original components maintained.
The tires, fuel tank, engine control unit, seat belts, and fire extinguishing system were replaced, while the other components were carefully restored, starting from the engine designed by Mauro Forghieri. The 12-cylinder LE3512 is still able to deliver the original almost 700 HP, enabling enthusiasts to relive the emotions of the golden years of Formula One.
The guests of honor on the occasion of its grand return are Mirko Bortolotti, Lamborghini factory driver, and Giancarlo Minardi. The founder of the Faenza-based team recalled the fruitful collaboration with Lamborghini that lasted for the entire 1992 season: “Seeing the models of 25 or 30 years ago is still exciting. They are the last cars before the beginning of telemetry and automatic transmissions. Apart from the growling noise, which still today brings back those wonderful times, it was a very flexible engine with enormous power starting from the low rpms.”
Entrusted to drivers Gianni Morbidelli and Christian Fittipaldi, the Minardi M191B #003 competed in the first Grand Prix races of 1992 before being replaced by the M192, also equipped with a Lamborghini engine. The best result achieved by the single-seater restored by Polo Storico was 11th place with Christian Fittipaldi at the wheel at the Spanish GP, and it is now ready to return to racing and competing in the championships dedicated to historic F1 races. The testing outcome was very positive: the car ran more than 20 laps without any problem and the Lamborghini engine perfectly maintained all the features that so impressed Ayrton Senna during the tests at Estoril in 1993.

La Minardi 191B F1 con motore Lamborghini torna a correre
A 26 anni dal suo ultimo Gran Premio la Minardi M191B, telaio #003, equipaggiata col motore Lamborghini V12 LE3512 e tra le protagoniste della stagione 1992 di Formula 1 scende di nuovo in pista. Il shakedown ad alto impatto emotivo, organizzato da Lamborghini Squadra Corse è il risultato di un meticoloso restauro totale realizzato dal Lamborghini Polo Storico col supporto di personale ex Lamborghini Engineering, parte attiva del progetto Lamborghini F1 all’inizio degli anni ’90. La Minardi M191B #003 è la prima monoposto restaurata dal Polo Storico: dopo essere stata esposta nel Museo Lamborghini di Sant’Agata Bolognese, la vettura ha attraversato sette mesi di lavori per tornare all’efficienza originale, mantenendo gran parte dei componenti originali. Pneumatici, serbatoio, centralina motore, cinture di sicurezza e sistema d’estinzione sono stati sostituiti, gli altri componenti attentamente revisionati a partire dal motore progettato da Mauro Forghieri.
Il 12 cilindri LE3512 è ancora oggi in grado di erogare i quasi 700 cavalli d’origine ed è capace di far rivivere le emozioni degli anni d’oro della Formula 1. Ospiti d’onore in occasione del grande ritorno sono Mirko Bortolotti, Factory Driver Lamborghini, e Giancarlo Minardi. Il fondatore del team di Faenza ha ricordato la fruttuosa collaborazione con Lamborghini, durata per tutta la stagione 1992: “Vedere i modelli di 25/30 anni fa è ancora entusiasmante. Sono le ultime vetture prima dell’inizio delle telemetrie e dei cambi automatici. Al di là del rombo, che ancora oggi ci fa ricordare tempi bellissimi, era un motore molto elastico con grande potenza fin da bassi regimi di giri”. Affidata ai piloti Gianni Morbidelli e Christian Fittipaldi, la Minardi M191B #003 disputò i primi gran premi del 1992 prima di essere sostituita dalla M192, sempre equipaggiata con motore Lamborghini. La monoposto restaurata dal Polo Storico colse come miglior risultato un 11° posto con Christian Fittipaldi al GP di Spagna e da oggi è pronta a tornare a correre e gareggiare nei campionati dedicati alle F1 storiche.
L’esito del test è stato molto positivo: la vettura ha percorso oltre 20 giri senza alcun problema e il motore Lamborghini ha mantenuto intatte le caratteristiche che nel 1993 tanto impressionarono Ayrton Senna durante i test di Estoril nel 1993.
