Highly #Original, #Unrestored Miura Heading to London Auction’s New Location
RM Sotheby’s announces a new date and location for our London auction, an annual highlight on the European auction calendar. Known for its electric atmosphere and specializing in everything from imposing Edwardians to modern supercars, this year’s sale will be held at the renowned Olympia event space in West Kensington on the new date of 24 October, offering collectors and attendees the opportunity to experience the city during autumn.
Headlining this year’s London sale is a unique “time capsule” in the 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S. The Lamborghini—to be offered without reserve—may well be one of the last remaining examples in such original and unrestored condition, boasting original paint, trim, and all mechanicals.
This incredible car was enjoyed as it was designed to—being driven. After its owner’s passing in 2015, the car—which was in running condition at the time—went into barn storage, where it would remain until recently. The Miura still retains its original Giallo Flay yellow paint, Skay Bleu blue interior, and original engine, which does not appear to have ever been rebuilt. It also has the original German title from 1971, its original service book, as well as many period documents, invoices, and the original correspondence with the Lamborghini factory. The only changes made to the car during its life were two front indicators and Schroth harness seat belts. The car is in every respect a wonderfully preserved piece of automotive history, the like of which rarely comes to market.
